Job Title: Police Officer
Duties:
- Enforce laws and ordinances to maintain public order and safety
- Patrol assigned areas to deter criminal activity and provide assistance to the public
- Respond to emergency calls and provide necessary assistance
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and make arrests as needed
- Write detailed reports on incidents, accidents, and investigations
- Testify in court as a witness when required
- Conduct traffic stops and issue citations for traffic violations
- Provide crowd control and security at public events or gatherings
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies on joint operations or investigations
Skills:
- Conflict management: Ability to handle difficult situations and resolve conflicts peacefully
- Loss prevention: Knowledge of techniques to prevent theft or loss of property
- Surveillance: Proficiency in conducting surveillance operations to gather information or evidence
- CPR: Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to provide emergency medical assistance if needed
- Leadership: Ability to take charge and make decisions in high-pressure situations
- Criminal investigation: Knowledge of investigative techniques and procedures for gathering evidence in criminal cases
- Report writing: Strong written communication skills to accurately document incidents, investigations, and other activities
- Animal handling: Ability to safely handle and control animals when necessary
Requirements:
- Must be a graduate from a police academy or have equivalent law enforcement training/certificate
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history and drug screening
- Must be physically fit and able to meet the physical requirements of the job, including running, lifting, and climbing
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
